Abstract

Penelitian ini berupaya mengeksplorasi bagaimana Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dilaksanakan oleh perusahaan di Kabupaten Karawang, dengan fokus pada pemahaman mekanisme dukungan yang ditawarkan kepada UMKM melalui inisiatif CSR. Studi ini berlabuh pada konsep CSR, disesuaikan dengan konteks lokal. Teori CSR yang diadopsi menekankan interaksi antara bisnis dan komunitas tempat mereka beroperasi, serta keuntungan sosial yang timbul dari menumbuhkan kepercayaan dalam komunitas lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi sosio-legal yang dibedakan oleh penelitian deskriptif. Wawancara dengan personel perusahaan dan pemangku kepentingan UMKM di Karawang dilakukan sebagai bagian dari proses pengumpulan data, yang juga mencakup peninjauan makalah hukum terkait.


Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa perusahaan di Karawang telah memanfaatkan CSR untuk memberikan berbagai bentuk dukungan, antara lain modal ventura, pelatihan, promosi produk, perluasan pasar, serta pengembangan sarana dan prasarana. Diskusi membingkai temuan ini dalam kerangka teoritis CSR, menyoroti dampak positifnya terhadap UMKM dan masyarakat luas. Studi ini menawarkan wawasan praktis dan teoritis tentang peran CSR dalam memberdayakan UMKM, menunjukkan bagaimana upaya ini dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan berkontribusi pada praktik bisnis yang berkelanjutan. Dengan menganalisis perilaku CSR dalam konteks tertentu di Karawang, Indonesia, dan menunjukkan bagaimana CSR dapat menjadi alat yang berguna untuk mempromosikan pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal, penelitian ini memajukan pemahaman kita tentang CSR.
